All this talk of cookies makes me want some cookies.
It’s inevitable that shortly after the child finally falls asleep for her nap the 🔲🔲🔲 dogs find something to bark and howl at. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. It infuriates me.

Mine was 42. So I have a solid amount of Social Anxiety. But we all knew this.
47. That sounds about right.Â

Well, I pulled out the carpet cleaner to clean up dog vomit and kid pee from the carpet. I should do the whole room but that would be a big process of picking up toys, vacuuming, moving furniture… I did some of the high traffic spots until I ran out of cleaner at least. Related: I loathe this carpet. I cannot wait until we can afford to get this crap torn out and replaced with a non-carpet...

1.) Kraft Parmesan cheese
Why you have it: You’re a lazy, stupid asshole.
Why you shouldn’t have it: Somewhere in Illinois, Kraft has a factory where it “manufactures” the stuff that it sells in those green cans. Unbeknownst to most, the “factory” is actually what is internally known as a…
I am pleased to announce that we have none of the above foods.

Me: Skin?
C: Forming.
Me: Ok
—- We refer to Olivia in stages of pudding when trying to get her to sleep. Often lately she’ll only settle and sleep if C takes her to the living room to sit quietly (eventually) in the dark. As she settles she goes through the stages of making homemade pudding. Not set, starting to get set, set but not quite ready, skin has formed so she’s...
Useless Information: My car was at the dealership... →

My car was at the dealership for some work yesterday, and, along with the rest of the what they were doing, I asked them to look into why the driver’s side door no longer worked with my smart key. It wasn’t a huge deal, just a bit of an annoyance.
Later in the day, I thought about this more and…

It amuses me that companies have started advertising for dried plums.
It’s a trick!

Olivia was dancing to her Pandora station, but when a Yo Gabba Gabba song came on, she had to go grab her stuffed YGG friends to dance with them. (She only has Plex and Muno here, because it’s hard to hold five of them and dance.)
I watch (and join) this dance party all day every day but this STILL made me smile when I watched the video. I love this kid so much it is scary.

I don’t use it except to announce to people that I have one. I think it makes me sound like someone who worked hard to achieve something, which I guess I did. But honestly, labor and delivery of my bouncing (off the walls) baby boy was harder and I am infinitely more proud of the results.

A few things…
• The child hates pants and socks, even in winter.
• After watching 1 episode of Yo Gabba Gabba we turn on the YGG Pandora channel for an afternoon dance party. Often she’ll dance with her YGG Beanie Babies.
• When I sent this video to my dad his response was, “She already dances better than I do.” Haha. Picture an old version of Sheldon Cooper...
The problem with hanging black garbage bags on the windows to block the sun during nap time is that Mommy falls asleep too.

Stubborn
At the 18-month appointment yesterday the pediatrician said Olivia should be off the bottle and using cups now. He said that studies show that kids who use the bottle much past 18-months end up needing braces in the future.Â
We’ve been trying to get her to switch to cups for about 8 months. She loves to drink water out of her sippy cups. She absolutely REFUSES to drink anything else out of...
Time
We leave for Olivia’s 18-month checkup in a few minutes. No shots this time! I can’t believe it has been 18 months since she officially joined our family. I can’t imagine life without her.

T minus 1 hour (or so)
Olivia has to have her blood drawn tonight to check her iron level before her 18-month appointment that is on Thursday. Not looking forward to it.
:P
I’m mopey today for some reason so I’m doing some lazy parenting and put Tangled on for The Child. She hasn’t seen it since Thanksgiving so it’s keeping her enthralled and entertained. Then nap time.

Good news: My boss approved my vacation request. Bad news: That’s about half of my time off for the entire year.
Yeah, first world problems, I know.
BUT WE GET TO MEET CLOUDYA, NUGGET, AND (PROBABLY, I ASSUME) KEN!!

Plans made.
I booked our flights, hotels, and car rentals for the trip in April. It was complicated enough until last week I got a call from C’s mom asking if we could come down there for his grandmother’s 90th birthday party.Â
It all worked out so we are going there first, then to the hockey tournament, then to see Cloudya and my “bff” from high school for a few days.
Hopefully the...
Naked butt! Naked butt!!
The Child is a wild one tonight. Also, she removed her diaper twice today. The second time she was playing in her playhouse for a while before she reappeared sans diaper. Then she ran around the room squealing with delight when we noticed and asked her where it was. Â

Less guilty
At night we used to like to watch a couple episodes of Futurama in bed before going to sleep.
Since O refuses to sleep in her room she has gotten to where she also enjoys a few episodes before sleep. As she’s gotten older I’ve felt guilty about it because she recognizes the music and characters and it is often not kid appropriate in theme and language. The last thing I want is for...
